Overview
The Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the Family Voices (FV) and the March of Dimes invite all persons and organizations concerned with children and youth with special health care needs to board the 2010 Express. The 2010 Express represents an innovative, national campaign to achieve family-centered, culturally-competent, comprehensive, and coordinated systems of services for all children and youth with special health needs, in every community, by the year 2010. A focal point of this initiative will be All Aboard the 2010 Express: A National Summit on Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs and Their Families. The summit will take place at the Hilton Washington in Washington, D.C. on December 12 -13, 2001.

During a highly interactive, two-day summit, plenary sessions, workshops, exhibits and a cyber café will provide participants with new information, models, tools and skill building to effectively implement actions to achieve service systems for CSHCN. Most important, the summit will provide numerous structured and informal opportunities for participants to build upon existing partnerships and develop new collaborative relationships. Youth and family leaders will be available throughout the conference to discuss issues and implementation strategies with other participants. Only by working together – at the Federal, State and local levels, public and private sectors - can we achieve the goals of the 10 Year Action plan.
