American Association
of People with Disabilities Summer Internship Programs

The American Association of People With Disabilities (http://www.aapd-dc.org/)
is accepting applications for the following summer internships.
Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation-AAPD Congressional
Internship: Offered by the Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation
(http://www.meaf.org/)
and AAPD, this program is an eight-week paid summer internship
that gives college/university students with disabilities
the chance to obtain first-hand knowledge of the legislative
and political process by working in Congressional offices
in Washington, D.C. Undergraduate students studying at a
college or university who, at the time of application, are
first-semester sophomores through second-semester juniors
are eligible to complete an official application. Applicants
must be U.S. citizens. The program will provide the eight
selected participants with a $1,500 stipend; transportation
expenses to and from Washington, D.C.; and free accessible
housing.
Microsoft-AAPD Federal IT Internship: Offered by Microsoft
Corporation (http://www.microsoft.com/)
and AAPD, this program is an eleven-week paid summer internship
in Washington, D.C., that gives college/university students
with disabilities the opportunity to gain real-world work
experiences and further enhance their employment opportunities,
while also providing them with an opportunity to perfect
their information technology skills. Applicants must be
college or university students enrolled in an associate's
or bachelor's degree program when they begin the internship
program; have completed at least one semester of college
credits at the time of the application; and be a U.S. citizen.
Individuals age 18 or older are encouraged to apply. The
ten selected participants will receive a $2,500 stipend;
transportation expenses to and from Washington, D.C.; and
free accessible housing.

The Baxter International
Foundation

The Baxter International Foundation is the philanthropic
arm of Baxter International Inc., a global medical products
and services company. Like Baxter, the foundation supports
the development of better, more accessible care, delivered
as economically as possible. The Baxter International Foundation
funds initiatives that benefit the entire health field.
These include projects that improve quality, cost-effectiveness,
access or education, and may be designed as models for larger
programs.

Brinker InternationalDeadline: Ongoing
Giving back to the communities where they live and work
is one of Brinker International's core values. With a diverse
variety of local fund-raising activities and corporate giving
programs, Brinker and its restaurants contribute more than
$3 million a year to a number of worthwhile charities. The
objective of the Brinker International Foundation is to
support programs and projects that are affiliated with Children/Family,
Arts, Civic, and University related educational programs.
Brinker International's Charitable Committee must have
the following information from organizations requesting
donations: The exact amount requested and the specific purpose
for the donation briefly summarized on 1-2 typewritten pages.
The request should detail how the donations will be used;
information about your organization, including proof of
501(c)(3) status and sources of funding; information, if
any, concerning past or current involvement of Brinker International
employees with the organization; and they may also ask for
the organization's current Board of Directors, including
their business and civic affiliations, as well as the organization's
recent financial statements.

The mission of the Charles Lafitte Foundation (CLF) is
to provide for and support inventive and effective ways

and Making a Difference

Description: Office Depot supports nonprofit organizations
at the local level with donations of products, contributions
of funds and efforts to encourage employees and customers
to become involved.
Some eligibility requirements include: The nonprofit organization
must be aligned with Office Depot's mission to directly
impact the health, education and welfare of children; funds
provided by Office Depot must directly assist children;
the organization must have an established track record of
community advocacy and a clear direction for its future
initiatives; and the organization must have 501(c)(3) status.
