Membership in the Council on Children with
 
Disabilities


If you are a Fellow of the Academy who sees children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) in your practice or has an interest in CYSHCN issues, you will assuredly be an asset to the Council on Children with Disabilities (COCWD).

Eligibility & Application
Membership in the COCWD is open to AAP Fellows and Specialty Fellows actively involved or interested in disability issues for infants, children and adolescents.

To join the COCWD, simply apply online:
1. Go to www.aap.org/moc and login with your AAP ID number and password.


2. Click on "Join A Section or Council" under "Get Involved".


3. Chose Council on Children with Disabilities, answer a few questions, and click "Submit". Upon submission, you will receive an invoice for the $25 annual COCWD dues. Membership in COCWD will be added upon receipt of dues payment.

Annual cost to maintain membership in the COCWD is $25.

  • Triannual e-newsletter;
  • Networking opportunities;
  • Opportunities to participate in educational program development;
  • Opportunities to participate in policy statement development;
  • Subscription to the COCWD's e-mail list (Listserv®), to keep you informed about disability issues; (if you are a COCWD member and would like to be added to the listserv, email Stephanie Skipper at sskipper@aap.org: include your name and email address).
  • Opportunity to nominate colleagues for the annual Arnold J. Capute Award; and
  • Voting privileges for annual Executive Committee elections process (via electronic ballot).
