At the National Center of Medical Home Initiatives
for Children with Special Health Care Needs, three types
of technical assistance are available:
General Technical Assistance
Technical assistance is offered to anyone who is involved
in ensuring children with special health care needs have
access to a medical home. Examples of technical assistance
are:
- Provision of educational and advocacy materials
- Identification of barriers and assistance in overcoming
them
- Strategic planning to build systems of care to support
medical homes
- Linking individuals with model medical home projects
across the Nation through the Medical
Home Mentorship Network
- Identification of local, state, and national resources
- Coordination of planning meetings
- Identification of funding
sources
- Dissemination of resources from the National Center
of Medical Home Initiatives for Children with Special
Needs at conferences
- Developing and disseminating medical
home tools for families, providers, youth, insurers,
communities and states

Screening & Surveillance Technical
Assistance
Pediatricians and other health care professionals who are
interested in integrating screening and surveillance activities
with the medical home can download tools and resources on
newborn and infant hearing screening, newborn metabolic
/ genetic screening, preschool vision screening, and developmental
screening and surveillance. National Center staff are available
to provide assistance in any area and in facilitating the
development of strategies throughout the process. If you
have additional questions related to the Medical Home Screening
& Surveillance Program, please send your question or

Training Technical Assistance
AAP Chapters and anyone else interesting in hosting
the Every Child Deserves a Medical Home Training Program
in their local community or organization can download complementary
materials that describe the process involved with implementing
the program as well as the actual training manuals, marketing
materials, power point slides, and other training resources.
National Center staff are available to answer questions
about this process and to help you strategize the training
options to best meet you individualized needs. For more
